...y por si alguien va a Londres y tiene curiosidad

Pues el sábado nocha Scarpia y Fantine tuvieron visita del filósofo mozartiano ovetense, y, los tres, con un par de mojitos y una cerveza nos pusimos a discutir sobre los castrati (incluyendo métodos de "obrtención" de los muchachos en cuestión ...con alguna expresión de dolor de los dos chicos:roll: ).

Hoy me encuantro con esta noticia...si alguien tiene curiosidad, o va a Londres y nos lo puede contar..intersante si puede estar, no?

New exhibition: Handel and the Castrati

Opening on Wednesday 29 March, Handel and the Castrati will reveal the stories behind the castrati who were the eighteenth century’s super-opera-stars. These male singers with amazingly powerful and high voices brought their celebrity status to wherever they travelled and were surrounded by money, extensive entourages and adoring fans.Discover how young boys became castrati and developed their voices and how Handel used these unusual instruments to best advantage. The exhibition will feature pictures, prints, scores and objects relating to the castrati. There will also be a chance to hear some of the most ravishing and emotive melodies Handel ever wrote, as the exhibition will be complimented by a series of concerts dedicated to music he wrote for these remarkable voices. In addition there will be special events, lectures and film viewings. The exhibition and all the various related events will provide a rare opportunity to understand more about this incredible phenomenon.

Quise ir en mi última visita a Londres, pero no hubo tiempo. No se puede hacer todo. Tiene pinta de ser muy interesante, sin duda.
