Felice Alessandri (1747-1798) Born in Rome, Alessandri was trained at the Naples Conservatory. After completing his studies he became maestro di cappella at the Turin Cathedral. He then moved to Paris, France where he lived for 4 years. After a brief return to Italy, he came to London in 1768 where he was active as a concert pianist and two of his comic operas were staged: La moglie fedete and Re alia caccia. He then spent time in various cities in Italy and in St. Petersburg, Russia. He came to Berlin in 1789 where he served as choir master of the Berlin Hofoper from 1790-1792. Two of his operas were premiered in Berlin: Il Ritorno a Ulysse (1790) and Dario (1791). In 1792 his comic opera L'Ouverture du grand opera italien a Nankin was mounted in Potsdam. Not much is known about his activities over the next six years. He died in 1798 in Casalino at the age of 50.

Ha habido algún cambio por parte del servicio de alojamiento que está teniendo efectos secundarios. A mí esta mañana no me dejaba entrar en el propio panel de administración para activar una cuenta nueva y tuve que hacer unos cambios en el fichero de configuración del mod_security, que no se había tocado nunca. No sé si será esta la causa o si se tratará de un problema independiente.

Si quiere, puede subir el mensaje o mandarlo por MP marcando la casilla de deshabilitar el BBCode o inhabilitando manualmente los comandos (por ejemplo, dejando un espacio en blanco entre el corchete y el comando: [ comando]) y lo puedo mirar cuando tenga un momento.

Paul Moravec was born in 1957 in Buffalo, New York, and subsequently attended the Lawrenceville School, graduating in 1975. He received his B.A. in composition from Harvard University in 1980; while there, he performed with the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, one of the Holden Choirs. He won the Prix de Rome and studied at the American Academy in Rome after graduating. He then received the Master of Music (1982) and Doctor of Musical Arts (1987) in composition, both from Columbia University. Moravec has taught at Dartmouth College (1987–1996) and Hunter College (1997–1998). He suffered from clinically diagnosed depression that worsened during the time immediately surrounding his departure from Dartmouth College, and underwent electroshock therapy. He is currently a University Professor in the music department at Adelphi University, He also teaches composition at the Mannes School of Music, contributing to what The New York Times has called a "renaissance" in a college that went through academic and financial difficulties in the 1990s. In 2004, Moravec received the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his work Tempest Fantasy. This prestigious award raised Moravec's profile significantly, and he was appointed to several residencies. He was named the new honorary composer-member of the New York Composers Circle in September, 2006. He was also appointed the composer in residence for the 2007-2008 academic year at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. In addition to his Pulitzer Prize, Moravec has received a Composer Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Rockefeller Foundation fellowship, and the Charles Ives Prize and Goddard Lieberson Awards in American Composition. He was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2010.

Por fin la pude poner. Si pongo la fecha de nacimiento como siempre, después del nombre, (*1957), no lo acepta. No entiendo por que.

Tigran Gevorki Chukhajian [1837-1898] He was born in Constantinople. He studied at composer Gabriel Yeranian's class, then had classes in Milan. Along with other Armenian intellectuals of that period he fought for the development of national culture, organized Armenian musical societies, theatres, schools, papers and free concerts. In 1862, he took over publication of the Armenian musical journal Armenian Lyre. In his works, Chukhajian used the elements of European musical techniques and eastern music elements. He is an author of pieces for piano, songs and romances, chamber and symphonic works, operas. His most successful opera was Leblebici hor-hor agha [1875], it was premiered at the French Theatre in Constantinople, it was so successful that during the season it was performed more than hundred times and during the month Ramadan it was performed every single night. He died in Smyrna [now İzmir]. Chukhajian is buried in the Armenian cemetery of İzmir.

He created the first Armenian opera, Arshak II , based on the historical figure King Arsaces II [Arshak II]. Arshak II was banned because of its potential political ramifications. Nevertheless, Chukhajian changed some of the scenes and managed to convince Naum to allow the opera to be performed in his theatre by an Italian opera group known as Olimpia. The score was considered lost, but was discovered in 1942 and performed in 1945 in a revised version at the Armenian Opera Theater opera theater in Yerevan. Arshak II continued in the repertoire of the Yerevan Opera Theater. In 2001, it was staged at the San Francisco Opera. Chukhajian is also remembered as the composer of what may have been the first original opera in Turkish, Arif'in Hilesi [Arif's Deception], based on Nikolai Gogol's The Government Inspector .The opera caused a conflict between Chouhajian and Gullu Agop whether it was a vaudeville or opera. It was performed in the Gedikpaşa theatre.
